puritan for fun
I waited
To travel to the past
I was nervous
That some act
Would keep me from coming back
I salvaged
Every dime that I could find
And the night came
And it went
My companion
Without compassion
Laughed at my faults
Anachronistic
Yet without a knack for time
Obsessed with something
Over there
Ooh-eee, ooh-eee
A total eclipse of the heart
Hoarding moments of my day
To share
And then to keep to myself
A life lived full-ish
But alone
A silent woman in a silent crowd
Reserved,
I am a Puritan for fun
